Some Drummin'...

This was a couple days ago... I let loose another session in the park today, but am experiencing great woes with the camera...

I will say that there MIGHT JUST BE hope for today's youth...

I complimented a pair of youngsters on their skateboards whilst hauling drum and a cooler of frothy ones to a shady table-- and for the record, my verbiage was NOT platitude; the longboards WERE awesome...
Later, they braved to approach Ol' Man Cygnus [I know the mindset, and know, comparatively, it rings true in Chronos' (human) vision...] to ask about "the instrument" i play...

Hope I dinna bore them too terribly much with verbiage... but.. they stayed, and listened... so, is not all so bad, is it?!? lol!

Practice vid of a few days ago to follow... a BEAUTIFUL day in the fourth largest city in these United States, Folks...

Slainte!

The drum is the heart beat and playing ancient rythms awakens the listener - synching with the double helix memories of dna and deep resonating light inside.

Very nice drumming my friend. :)

All youth are not lost. My daughter plays percussion and guitar. She also has a skateboard, she painted her own deck.

The vid. looks good!

Right on Cyggy Baby.....the Swan's comment ain't just 'whistlin' Dixie'.....................220 beats per minute is the cadence which shifts the brain from beta to alpha rythyms......did you know that a rattle shakes up the static in the auric field.....make a stick full of beads or rocks or whatever and use it to drum with.
The steady deep tones 'wake'the root which directly reacts to stimulate the 'crown' and the rattles quickly engender to fuse the two.....it can quickly dissolve stuck vibes in a persons thoughts when rattled or drum-rattled up and down either side of the body. If you are using the rattle only...try rattling very slowly from the feet to the top of the head and have the subject keep their eyes closed so they can sensitize to the cadence...then ask them to raise a finger or some simple speak wherever they feel tightness or discomfort....at a response rattle the area until the energy dissolves then continue on up, over, and down the other side going back and forth for about 3 - 5 minutes. They are amazing restorative centering devices.

Yeah, sometimes kids can surprise you. Many are chained to their cellphones and other gadgets like slaves to a master but they're not all bad.

Nicely played, Sir...I'm surprised the moon didn't come down and sing with ye - or dance, at any rate...

As with Miss Felinae, I think not all youth are lost...the Evil Genius has an Ashiko he plays with great delight, and he'll beat any drum within reach of permitted. Sometimes we sit in the driveway and play, a sort of audio chaos (he's not as interested in steady rhythm as he is on the varying sounds a Djembe makes, at the moment, and I'm not exactly a brilliant drummer, myself...but I can keep a steady beat...).

Hey, baby...you can play my big bodhran any time...snort...

K

Well Sir I will have to say I am impressed!! Beautiful work and not as easy as it would seem. I played the whistle for years - well several really - but my love is singing the harmony parts. Thank you for sharing your talent with us - Swan was right on the money. It does resinate in my soul!!
Blessings, Sarah
