Here Come The Thunder...

And a chance for rain looks promising-- a sweet glimpse at Momma Nature's more temperamental sides from the humanoid perspective.

I've always liked the sound... the light first, sometimes... sometimes (most exciting!) simultaneous and accenting a bone-resonating soundwave...

I've always liked the rain-- the ocean, wellwater, breath condensation... how many myriad other forms of collected moisture bound together until their need for the release of the fall outweighs the current sustaining them aloft...

There's the still before the torrent-- actually HERE, litelally this minute as I type, riding a distant thunder-wave in, is the Silent, the Still... the coming, the impending, the potential...

The sky grows deceptively lighter, giving away future intent by it's orange eye looking mischievously down and askance...

I've always enjoyed the closed-in feel when the sheets of grey curtain all existence outside somewhere... nothing to penetrate my mind's eye, free to roam the universes that open up when we are locked blissfully with naught but our thought...

Then there's the cool, the cleansing...
The Earthen-loam smell after the rains... the sounds returning-- birds, locusts. Kids.

Bid Welcome, for here come the Rain...

Slainte, folks.

Cygnus

Ahh...lovely...refreshing...sweet relief, release...

Will you go out and dance in it, Sir? Let the sky kiss your face with little drops brushing skin, sliding downward to rejoin their kin in the earth's depths?

I do love a good wetting.

Shade and Sweetwater,
K

Cygnus, my friend,

Thanks for sharing your perspective on an impending storm.

I have always loved the shocking booms of thunder and the intense bursts of color brought forth when lightning pierces the sky.

I also like the first few moments after a good hard rain, the smells, the way the droplets linger on the leaves. The freshness of the surrounding sights...

Hey, if you could, please, send some of Mother Nature's magic this way. My rain dances do not seem to be working as of late. :D

Love~n~Hugs

As a swan I am rather fond of water...
I understand flowers enjoy a good wetting time to time.
Good for growth. Water is Life.

M'Lady Felinae...
This swan will attempt your bidding, drumming wing to energize rainclouds manifest above your abode...

Strictly in the non-metaphorical sense, lest the magic gods be listening and intent on some stormy mischief...

Thank you, Lady Felinae.

How I love a good old electrical storm...those magnificent forks of light, the room shaking thunder...

But my favorite is the slight metallic smell in the air, right before the storm....

I could almost taste it...

Peace - Rene

Hey, I heard your message today. And, here's what you must do:
"Proceed with a joyful heart and know that all will be well."

Here's to the rain that refreshes and renews.

you and me both. i love the run up, the tantrums and the taunts, the chill in the air, the electricity that makes your hair stand on end, and when the downpour finally comes, the smells emitted by mother earth, delectable!

I've always been fascinated by thunder storms. Your description is beautiful. Welcome the Rain everyday - it's a blessing from the skies.

Shadow-- the Earthen smell is the best! Warm, loamy, fertile...

Thanks for chiming in, Lady!

Cygnus, you paint a pretty vivid picture in my mind too. Funny I just heard thunder off in the distance. Take care.
